a brief social experiment

Anyone (i.e. non-registered and anonymous) may post comments for the moment.
This is most likely not permanent as we generally encourage good writing and discourage the illiterate spewing of hate.

Ready... set... go!

Hey, here's one for Words Matter - a big old above-the-fold HEADLINE typo on the front page of today's Eye.

The dog ate my brain Sunday night, so as you can see, I'm blameless.

I'll be interested to see the results of this. Even though I regularly read and enjoy your blog, I've noticed the lack of comments, and that has made it less interesting (to me!). I've been too lazy to create a blogger account, but was thinking about it just to comment on this very subject. Hopefully people will play nice and you will feel inclined to allow anonymous posting - I'm not sure you can fill the Buhne Tribune void otherwise.

Your blog is lame. Give it up.

You'll be fine.

I expect it will start out mild, and then descend into "The Revenge of the Trolls" pretty darn quick. But thanks for trying.

Actually, us trolls are uniting. It doesn't matter whether anonymous comments are allowed anymore. We are going to fill your blog with so much filth that the only way to stem the tide will be to simply shut the blog down. There are so many IP addresses and so much privacy software and public computers available that nothing you do will ever be enough.
This is literally the worst blog yet to pollute the logal blogosphere and we are not going to tolerate it. Just like Buhne you are another pro-Arkley, ER lover and T-S hater and we're going to shut your sleazeball ass down.
TROLLS UNITE!!!

Well, you already have more comments than usual but all about making comments...so...? I would give this another few days and see how it plays out. Ignore 3:28 and those like him/her.

Just when I was thinking about monitoring mine!

Richard Arkley is my best friend.

Because buhne did not monitor the comments on his post, it was like this - you open a door into a room filled with people involved in a giant pillow fight, the feathers are flying and it is chaos. You yell, "HEY!" And they all stop, frozen for a second, looking at you funny. Then, just as quickly the frenzied pillow fight resumes with the feathers flying and drinks spilling, and people yelling. You close the door quietly and leave them at it. Or you join in, depending on your mood.

It could happen here. But it probably won't.

I'm jdublyou

I hope you continue to allow the anonymous comments. This is not Buhne, but it does have a certain informed edge and the potential for some compelling conversation.

Yep...the wackos will populate the discourse but they can be easily discounted.

Rose is right, Buhne never read the posts. He advised me against it every time I got sideways about some comment.

The beauty of blogs is a free exchange of ideas, even with the hiccups.

A thoughtful blog, with some humor, inside scoop and insight is a fine thing.

Absent the ability to separate me from my public persona, makes it a window-looking opportunity.

I'd like to come in and sit for a while.
